My name is Kevin Jerinnie, and Ear11 was born from a moment that changed my life. Years ago, I worked for a hearing aid company, taking calls from parents, grandparents, veterans, and retirees—people who simply wanted to hear again. But those calls were never easy. I was the one processing payments and reading out totals like $6,856, $9,456, and sometimes nearly $10,000 for a single pair of hearing aids. Many customers told me things I’ll never forget:“ This is part of my life savings.”
“I don’t really have this kind of money, but I need to hear.”
“I’ll go ahead and do it… I don’t have a choice. "I could hear the hesitation—the fear, the resignation. People weren’t buying luxury products. They were buying their connection to the world, often with money they couldn’t afford to lose. Day after day, it made me physically sick.
I knew something was deeply wrong with an industry that forced people to choose between hearing and financial survival. I couldn’t keep doing it. Less than a year after leaving that company, I made a decision: If the industry wouldn’t change, I would.
